I used the Windows Media Player, Real Player, WinDVD 8, they all do the same.

I am pretty sure the DVD movie I have has the DD 5.1, because I played that on my DVD, it works fine. But when I play DVD movie (on the DVD rom) from my HTPC, I see nothing on the receiver, when I press the surround button on the receiver, I see PLII, and I don't get any surround sound at all. Normally if I play DVD movie on a DVD player, the receiver will show Dobby Digital 5.1 or DTS (depends on the source) on the front display. I want to have Divx AC3, DD 5.1, DTS when I play Divx file/DVD movies on my HTPC, but after I connect the Chaintech AV-710 with the Onkyo TX-NR901 receiver (with optical out), I can only get PLII on the receiver.
